Baseball Recap: North Hills Christian Triumphs

North Hills Christian hadn't done well against Piedmont Community Charter recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The North Hills Christian Eagles came out on top against the Piedmont Community Charter Patriots by a score of 6-1. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 9-4 win the Patriots walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Gracin Craig made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chris Barringer, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Another player making a difference was Zack Strickland, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

The victory got North Hills Christian back to even at 2-2. As for Piedmont Community Charter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, North Hills Christian will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Page at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Piedmont Community Charter, they will head out on the road to take on Jackson Day at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Piedmont Community Charter's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
