Baseball Game Preview: Dr. Phillips Panthers vs. South Lake Eagles

The Dr. Phillips Panthers will challenge the South Lake Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dr. Phillips is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Dr. Phillips' last matchup with West Orange could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Friday. The Panthers came up short against the Warriors, falling 9-2.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, South Lake was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They fell just short of Mount Dora by a score of 3-2. The Eagles have struggled against the Hurricanes recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

South Lake saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was L Turner, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

South Lake now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Dr. Phillips, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14.

Dr. Phillips couldn't quite get it done against South Lake when the teams last played back in March of 2023 as they fell 3-0. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
