Baseball Recap: New Lima Takes a Loss

New Lima fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Dover on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Longhorns by a score of 2-1. The Falcons just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Logan Heard spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, New Lima saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Leaver, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

New Lima's loss dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Dover, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-10 record this season.

New Lima will welcome Frontier at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Dover, they will head out to square off against Cashion at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
