Softball Game Preview: El Modena Vanguards vs. Canyon Comanches

The El Modena Vanguards will head out on the road to square off against the Canyon Comanches at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

El Modena managed to slip by Cypress the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Vanguards lost 10-0 to the Centurions on Tuesday. The match marked the first time this season in which the Vanguards were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Canyon fell victim to Pacifica and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mariners.

El Modena's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-6. As for Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 18-7.

El Modena beat Canyon 4-0 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vanguards since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
