On Monday Alanna Wirtala struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). The effort marked the most strikeouts Wirtala has had since back in May of 2024. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was her fifth in a row with less than one walk. For the season, she has an ERA of 2.38 over 50 innings pitched.
