Basketball Recap: Edina Comes Up Short

Edina was the 66-47 winner over Mayo when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Edina Hornets were dealt a 74-44 defeat at the hands of the Mayo Spartans on Saturday.

Edina dropped their record down to 7-4 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Mayo, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Edina will face off against Eden Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eden Prairie will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Edina surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mayo, they will square off against Mankato East at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mayo is facing Mankato East at the right time seeing as Mankato East is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
