Baseball Recap: Manchester Academy Continues Home Dominance on Monday

Manchester Academy posted their closest win since February 18th on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Carroll Academy Rebels 15-13. The win continues a trend for the Mavericks in their matchups with the Rebels: they've now won six in a row.

Jon Parker Dees made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Manchester Academy let Joseph Beidleman and Craig Paul run wild. Beidleman scored three runs while going 3-for-3, while Paul went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Paul a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Wrigley Richardson, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Manchester Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carroll Academy struck out ten times.

Manchester Academy pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Carroll Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Coming up, Manchester Academy will welcome Kirk Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Manchester Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.7 runs per game this season. Carroll Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Winston Academy at 6:00 p.m. on April 1st.
