Softball Recap: West Craven Eagles vs. Swansboro Pirates
West Craven was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 13-1 to the Swansboro Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-3 on March 4th.
West Craven saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Jarman, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
West Craven's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Swansboro, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
West Craven will be playing in front of their home fans against Farmville Central at 6:00 p.m. on the 2nd. The Jaguars' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Swansboro, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-2 loss against White Oak on the 25th.
