Volleyball Preview: Jamestown Red & Green vs. Olean Huskies
The Jamestown Red & Green are on the road again on Tuesday to play the Olean Huskies at 7:30 p.m.
Last Saturday, Jamestown didn't have quite enough to beat Chautauqua Lake and fell 1-0. The Red & Green haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Jamestown sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 30-20.
Meanwhile, Olean posted their biggest victory since September 14, 2023 on Thursday. Everything went their way against Dunkirk as Olean made off with a 3-0 win.
The victory didn't come easy: Dunkirk scored at least 16 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-12, 25-16.
Olean was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 12 aces in three consecutive games.
Jamestown's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Olean, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-5.
