Basketball Recap: North Broward Prep Beats the Rock for Their Third Straight Victory

North Broward Prep extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Alexa Schwartz. The North Broward Prep Eagles walked away with a 59-46 victory over The Rock Lions on Monday thanks in part to Schwartz, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

The team also got some help courtesy of Ysamar Pimentel, who posted six points along with nine rebounds and six assists. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.

The Rock's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ruby Patterson, who went 7 of 15 on her way to 17 points and six boards, and Audrey Roberts, who had 17 points.

North Broward Prep is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for The Rock, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.

North Broward Prep and The Rock could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. North Broward Prep (ranked 127th) will meet Grandview Prep (ranked 22nd) at 5:00 p.m. on January 14, 2025. Meanwhile, The Rock (ranked 324th) will meet Montverde Academy Gold (ranked 25th) at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
