Volleyball Recap: Kingsburg Vikings vs. Redwood Rangers
Kingsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Redwood Rangers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.
The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-11, 20-25, 25-20.
Journey Vela had a dynamite game For Redwood., getting 27 digs and two aces. What's more, Vela posted three assists, the most she's had over her last eight games. Lalah Shaver also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.
Kingsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Redwood, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kingsburg will take on Mt. Whitney at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Redwood, they will venture away from home to square off against San Luis Obispo at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
