Volleyball Recap: Kingsburg Vikings vs. Redwood Rangers
Kingsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Redwood Rangers. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Rangers when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
The final score came out to 25-19, 25-11, 20-25, 25-20.
Emma Murgia paced Kingsburg's offense, picking up 12 kills. Murgia got some help from Maddie Ekizian and her 35 assists. Emily Beer controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Journey Vela was nothing short of spectacular for Redwood: she had 27 digs and two aces. What's more, Vela posted three assists, the most she's had over her last eight matches. Lalah Shaver also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.
Kingsburg's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Redwood, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7.
Kingsburg wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Mt. Whitney on the 4th. As for Redwood, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against San Luis Obispo on the 5th.
