Watauga took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against St. Stephens, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pioneers won by a run and slipped past the Indians 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pioneers.

Addison Moody spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

Watauga now has a winning record of 7-6. As for St. Stephens, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Watauga will host Mitchell at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Stephens, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Maiden at 6:00 p.m.
