Football Game Preview: Hobart Brickies vs. Hanover Central Wildcats

The Hobart Brickies will head out on the road to challenge the Hanover Central Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hobart's defense has only allowed 12.5 points per game this season, so Hanover Central's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Hobart blew Lowell out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Lowell got their revenge. The Brickies fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of 20-17. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Brickies have suffered since October 11, 2024.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hanover Central). They were the clear victors by a 30-10 margin over Munster on Friday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Hobart better keep an eye on Isaiah Buikema. He was instrumental in Hanover Central's win, rushing for 209 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. Buikema showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 58 yards.

Hanover Central was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 264 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Hobart and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Hanover Central, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Hobart couldn't quite get it done against Hanover Central in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 21-14. Thankfully for the Brickies, Caiden Verrett (who rushed for 194 yards and two TDs while picking up 8.1 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
