A Season-Best Effort from Ford Smith Leads Covington-Douglas over Cherokee
On Thursday, Covington-Douglas got the W thanks in part to Ford Smith playing the best football he has all season. Smith rushed for 129 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 315 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 74 yards.
The win for Covington-Douglas keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. Smith's next matchup is against Coyle on Thursday, where he'll look to repeat that solid performance.

Nobody could stop Robinson as he rushed for 96 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, and also picked up 63 receiving yards. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing two fumbles and making seven total tackles.
Davenport's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. Robinson and Davenport will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Covington-Douglas at 7:00 p.m. on November 1st.

Camden Thayer and Co. Win Seventh in a Row
Camden Thayer's big game helped extend Covington-Douglas's winning streak to seven on Thursday. Cherokee had no answer to Thayer as he picked up 131 receiving yards and a touchdown. Thayer also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making three total tackles and defending a pass in addition to snagging an interception.
