West-Oak and Pendleton are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. West-Oak has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 7.
Last Friday, West-Oak ended up a good deal behind Seneca and lost 71-54. While losing is never fun, West-Oak can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 275th, while Seneca is ranked 56th).
Lucas Towe put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Anthony Kaliski, who scored 13 points along with eight assists.
Meanwhile, even though Walhalla scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, Pendleton still came out on top. Pendleton managed a 60-55 victory over Walhalla. The victory was just what Pendleton needed coming off of a 75-34 defeat in their prior game.
West-Oak has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for Pendleton, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-10.
West-Oak came up short against Pendleton in their previous matchup on January 5th, falling 52-39. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Pendleton's Garon Blalock, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
