Volleyball Recap: Savannah Country Day Comes Up Short

Savannah Country Day lost against St. Vincent back in August and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hornets came up short against the Saints, falling 3-0.

While Savannah Country Day was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into St. Vincent's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-19, 25-21.

Olivia Aliotta paced Savannah Country Day's offense, picking up seven kills. Aliotta got some help from Boots Buckler and her ten assists. Aliotta also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Charlie Hawkins, each putting up three.

St. Vincent's was led to victory by Ella Woelber and Sophie Chu-Dy. Woelber had five digs and two aces, while Chu-Dy had 11 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Chu-Dy has posted over her last seven matches.

Savannah Country Day's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for St. Vincent's, they pushed their record up to 32-10 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home.

Savannah Country Day didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Bryan County on the 9th. As for St. Vincent's, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Savannah Christian on the 9th.
