Softball Game Preview: Madison Southern Eagles vs. Wahama White Falcons

The Madison Southern Eagles will take on the Wahama White Falcons at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Wednesday, Madison Southern came up short against Madison Central and fell 9-6. The Eagles have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Lexie Keener and Ashlyn Estep stepped up to the plate in a big way. Keener scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Estep scored a run while going 1-for-2. Ava Baldridge also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Wahama made sure to put some runs up on the board against Martin County on Thursday. The White Falcons put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp 12-2 victory. Considering the White Falcons have won six matches by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Kalyn Christian was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Payton Staats, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Wahama's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Madison Southern, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
