Basketball Recap: Nuniwarmiut Comes Up Short

Nuniwarmiut was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 42-11 defeat at the hands of the Akiuk Memorial Grizzlies. The Herders were down 29-7 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Nuniwarmiut's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Akiuk Memorial, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Nuniwarmiut does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Akiuk Memorial, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 54-40 victory against Nelson Island on the 24th.
