Football Game Preview: Centerville Bulldogs vs. Jeanerette Tigers

Centerville is 0-3 against Jeanerette since September of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Centerville took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 42-6 victory over Gueydan. The Bulldogs not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 4, 2024 (when they won 57-8).

Centerville can attribute much of their success to Tylon Spain, who rushed for 74 yards and two TDs on only five carries, and Cayson Alexander, who gained 84 total yards and two touchdowns. Those 74 rushing yards gave Spain a new career-high. Austin Pellerin made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Meanwhile, Jeanerette put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 56-6 win over West St. Mary. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 249th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jeanerette's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Centerville, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Centerville took a serious blow against Jeanerette in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 52-6. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Bulldogs were down 44-6.
