Football Recap: Cedarburg Takes a Loss

Cedarburg came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were outmatched by the Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes and fell 35-7. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Dukes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Lateef Love continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Whitefish Bay, rushing for 195 yards and two scores while picking up 10.8 yards per carry. Love really tore up the turf during one magnificent 86-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Wolter, who threw for 122 yards and one touchdown on only ten passes.

Cedarburg's defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Whitefish Bay, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Looking ahead, Cedarburg will challenge West Bend East at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Suns' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.4 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Whitefish Bay, they will square off against Slinger at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Owls will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Blue Dukes surely won't give up without a fight.
