Basketball Recap: University Prep Takes a Loss

University Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through an 80-51 loss at the hands of the Silver Valley Trojans. If the Jaguars were looking for revenge after losing 75-32 to the Trojans when the teams met back in January, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the defeat, University Prep saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Joshua Okeke posted 18 points. Donald McFarlin was another key player, putting up eight points.

University Prep's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Silver Valley, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. University Prep will challenge rival Big Bear at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Silver Valley is set to take on their familiar foe Riverside Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
