Recap: Fremont Tigers vs. Omaha North Vikings

The Fremont Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Omaha North, falling 74-45. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Fremont has scored all season.

Despite the defeat, Fremont saw an underclassman step up: Coriahnn Gallatin scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Colin Ridder, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.

Fremont struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Omaha North pulled down 11 offensive rebounds.

Mynor Strong continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Omaha North, scoring 26 points along with six rebounds. Strong is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Jerri'on Williams was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Fremont's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Omaha North, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fremont and Lincoln North Star will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Jordan Castor and Gallatin. As for Omaha North, they will head out on the road to face off against Papillion-LaVista at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Papillion-LaVista focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Saturday.
