Marvin Ridge has gone 8-2 against Cuthbertson recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Mavericks will be playing at home against the Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Marvin Ridge's last matchup with Sun Valley could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Friday. The Mavericks came up short against the Spartans, falling 30-7. The Mavericks have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Marvin Ridge might have lost, but man, Alex Voss was a machine: he picked up 144 receiving yards and one TD. Voss showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 68 yards.

While Marvin Ridge came up short, they sure didn't make it easy for Sun Valley: they limited their QB to completion percentage of just 45.5%. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for the Mavericks; they were averaging 59.6%completion percentage earlier this season, but in their last three matchups they've fallen to only 59.6%.

Meanwhile, Cuthbertson lost to Charlotte Catholic at home by a 28-14 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Cavaliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Cougars are ranked 35th).

Cuthbertson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Marvin Ridge, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Marvin Ridge and Cuthbertson were almost perfectly matched up in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, but Marvin Ridge suffered an agonizing 7-6 loss. Can the Mavericks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
