Baseball Game Preview: ThunderRidge Grizzlies vs. Flowing Wells Caballeros

The ThunderRidge Grizzlies will be taking part in a tournament against the Flowing Wells Caballeros at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

ThunderRidge came up short against Legacy on Saturday, falling 12-4. The loss continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their meetings with the Lightning: they've now lost five in a row.

Will Paquette made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits.

Meanwhile, Flowing Wells was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 10-4 to Rio Rico.

Diego Kisner was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Oscar Murillo also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Flowing Wells' loss dropped their record down to 3-6-1. As for ThunderRidge, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Flowing Wells' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: ThunderRidge has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Flowing Wells, though, as they've been averaging 10.4 hits. Given ThunderRidge's sizable advantage in that area, Flowing Wells will need to find a way to close that gap.

ThunderRidge beat Flowing Wells 6-3 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Will ThunderRidge repeat their success, or does Flowing Wells have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
