Soccer Game Preview: Lewis County vs. Loretto

The Lewis County Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Loretto Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lewis County's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for seven straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Lewis County's offense. They lost 7-0 to Richland last Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Lewis County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while Richland are ranked 97th).

Meanwhile, Loretto hadn't done well against Richland recently (they were 1-7-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Mustangs' defense stepped up to hand the Raiders a 3-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Loretto, who have now won three matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Lewis County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Loretto, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1-1.
