Monticello had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They strolled past the Pinnacle Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 63-44. With that victory, the Buckaroo brought their scoring average up to 50.6 points per game.

Monticello was led to victory by Kaden Pehrson and Cache Young. Pehrson dropped a double-double on 19 points and 16 boards, while Young went 7 for 13 en route to 19 points. The dominant performance gave Pehrson a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jackson Keyes, who posted 13 points and eight boards.

Monticello smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pinnacle only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Pinnacle lost, don't look at Brody Howell. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Howell continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Dominick Vigil was another key player, putting up ten points and six boards.

Monticello is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Pinnacle, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Monticello wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 71-25 win against Monument Valley on the 14th. As for Pinnacle, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 79-39 defeat against Whitehorse on the 16th.
