Softball Recap: St. Albans Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for St. Albans, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They skirted past the George Washington Patriots 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Red Dragons have posted since March 27th.

Ava Bentley made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 20 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Paige White was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

St. Albans now has a winning record of 11-10. As for George Washington, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-9.

As of now, neither St. Albans nor the Patriots have any future games scheduled.
