Basketball Recap: Angleton Takes a Loss

Angleton lost against Iowa Colony back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Angleton Wildcats took a 39-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Iowa Colony Pioneers. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Iowa Colony found their leader in sophomore Eryn Roberts, who went 7 for 15 on her way to 20 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Roberts a new career-high in blocks (two). Kenadie Francis was another key player, putting up six points and three blocks.

Angleton's defeat dropped their record down to 17-11. As for Iowa Colony, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-11 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing La Porte the next time they take the court. Angleton will head out to face La Porte at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Iowa Colony will host them at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st.
