Softball Game Preview: Banning Pilots vs. Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits

The Banning Pilots will face off against the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Banning came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-1 to Torrance. The Pilots haven't had much luck with the Tartars recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Kourtney Talanoa was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Long Beach Poly had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 13-9 to La Serna on Thursday.

Emoni Lam Sam made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Bailey Holder was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

Banning now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Long Beach Poly, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Banning came up short against Long Beach Poly when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 7-2. Can Banning avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
