The Carson Senators will head out on the road to face off against the McQueen Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Carson will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
On Friday, Carson earned a 21-14 win over Douglas.
A big part of Carson's victory came down to the chemistry between Tyler Silsby and his top target Zack Eaton. Silsby threw for 66 yards and two TDs while Eaton picked up 60 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Carson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 227 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McQueen). They blew past North Valleys, posting a 51-6 win. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Carson better focus on containing Ryder Tucker and Nason Rodriguez as the pair were huge in McQueen's win. Tucker threw for 173 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes, while Rodriguez rushed for 110 yards and a pair of scores on only five carries. Rodriguez also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because McQueen is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. A healthy portion of Tucker's aerial production (89 yards to be exact) went to Aiden Hayes, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
One reason for the win was McQueen's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Keagan Brenner was the leader with two. He is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last three games he's played.
Carson now has a winning record of 4-3. As for McQueen, their record now sits at 5-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Carson has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 190 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like McQueen struggles in that department as they've been averaging 191.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Carson skirted past McQueen 31-28 when the teams last played back in September of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Senators since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
