Basketball Recap: Tomas Starts off Right with Win over Heights

Tomas gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They breezed past the Heights Bulldogs to the tune of 71-16. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-8.

Leading Tomas to victory were Odion Otoijaghale and Amazing Omolola. Otoijaghale went 9-for-12 to rack up 18 points and eight steals, while Omolola shot 67% from the field on her way to 16 points along with six steals and five boards. Another player making a difference was Alana Howard, who went 5-for-7 en route to 10 points and three steals.

Looking ahead, Tomas will take on Pearland in a tournament on Thursday. As for Heights, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Brazoswood at 6:30 p.m. on the 18th.
