Basketball Recap: Kennedy Spellman Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Poudre

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Mountain Vista's strategy against Poudre on Tuesday. The Mountain Vista Golden Eagles took down the Poudre Impalas 60-46. This was payback for the Golden Eagles, who suffered a 60-48 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Mountain Vista's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kennedy Spellman, who posted 16 points and five steals. The contest was Spellman's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leanna Rivera, who put up eight points and seven steals.

Despite the loss, Poudre had strong showings from Maggie Foster, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, and Kavi Voglund, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 16 points and five steals. Voglund is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last four games she's played.

Mountain Vista picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 8-4. As for Poudre, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
