South Allegheny is 9-1 against Shady Side Academy since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The South Allegheny Gladiators will challenge the Shady Side Academy Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

South Allegheny is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Baldwin just ended the team's nine-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 59-52 to the Highlanders.

Meanwhile, Shady Side Academy fought the good fight in their overtime contest against South Park on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 55-52. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

South Allegheny's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-2. As for Shady Side Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

South Allegheny took their win against Shady Side Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 65-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Allegheny since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
