Preview: Sylvan Hills Bears vs. El Dorado Wildcats
Sylvan Hills has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The El Dorado Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Sylvan Hills fell victim to Catholic's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Rockets at home and fell 42-0. While losing is never fun, Sylvan Hills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas football rankings (they are ranked 116th, while Catholic is ranked 22nd).
Meanwhile, El Dorado had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Sheridan on Friday and snuck past 32-29. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for El Dorado's ten-point performance the match before.
El Dorado got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mitchell Polk out in front who threw for 166 yards and two touchdowns.
El Dorado's win bumped their season record to 3-4 while Sylvan Hills' defeat dropped theirs to 0-8.
Things could have been worse for Sylvan Hills, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 37-19 loss to El Dorado in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Can Sylvan Hills avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
