Baseball Recap: Patton Comes Up Short

Patton lost against Polk County on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Panthers fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 6-5. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cole Attaway was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits.

At the plate, Wyatt Hullette was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple. Patton is 5-1 when Hullette posts two or more runs, but 3-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Duncan, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Patton's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Polk County, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Patton will take on Ashe County at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers are facing the Huskies at the right time seeing as the Huskies are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Polk County, they will square off against Chase at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
