Del Oro can bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Foothill Trojans 14-12. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Suns considering their one-run performance the match before.

Xitlali Anaya was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Eliana Munoz, who went 4-for-5 with five stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Del Oro kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Del Oro's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 6-15. As for Foothill, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-11 record.

Coming up, Del Oro will take on Mira Monte at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.45 runs per game on average), something the Suns will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Foothill, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Golden Valley at 4:00 p.m. on May 6.
