Basketball Recap: Gwynn Park Starts off Right with Win over North Point

Gwynn Park took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Saturday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 66-65 victory over the North Point Eagles. That's more bragging rights for the Yellowjackets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chris Johnson, who went 7-for-15 en route to 15 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Clark, who posted 11 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gwynn Park will host Bowie at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Point, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against South River at 7:00 p.m.
