Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Pomona

Pomona extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 9-11. They skirted past the Conifer Lobos 8-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-5 back in April.

Victor Cafaro Jr. was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Pomona: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 7-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Maddux Najera, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

As for Conifer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since April 16th.

On Conifer's side, they got a good showing from Garrett Plomondon, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Plomondon has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Conifer saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mckade Tracy, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI. Luke Adams was another, going 2-for-5 with one double and one RBI.

Pomona has already played their next matchup, a 10-9 loss against Standley Lake on the 9th. As for Conifer, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-0 defeat against Evergreen on the 9th.
