Baseball Game Preview: Fairlawn Jets vs. Perry Commodores

The Fairlawn Jets are taking a road trip to face off against the Perry Commodores at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Fairlawn has given up an average of 11.3 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Fairlawn came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Russia, falling 14-3.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 20 runs the game before, Perry was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They fell just short of Botkins by a score of 3-2.

Brodey Douce made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times he's played. Colten Scott was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Perry's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4. As for Fairlawn, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Fairlawn couldn't quite get it done against Perry when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 10-7. Can the Jets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
