Volleyball Game Preview: Christ Covenant vs. Hartfield Academy Hawks

Christ Covenant are taking a road trip to challenge the Hartfield Academy Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Monday, Christ Covenant came up short against Heritage Academy and fell 3-1. Christ Covenant has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Christ Covenant started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-23, 25-16, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Hartfield Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Lamar on Tuesday and fell 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Hawks in their meetings with the Raiders: they've now lost four in a row.

Hartfield Academy wouldn't go down easily and took Lamar into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking seven-point loss. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-18, 20-25, 25-21, 15-8.

Hartfield Academy's loss dropped their record down to 19-12. As for Christ Covenant, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13-1.

Christ Covenant couldn't quite get it done against Hartfield Academy when the teams last played back in July as they fell 2-0. Can Christ Covenant avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
