Basketball Recap: Cloudcroft Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lordsburg on Thursday, Cloudcroft came back down to earth. The Bears took a hard 61-47 fall against the Capitan Tigers on Tuesday. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2025.

Despite the loss, Cloudcroft still got an impressive performance from Rylee Pahl, who posted 25 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Pahl's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Adlai Gutierrez also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Dj Robinson produced another solid effort going 6-for-11 from beyond the arc on his way to 32 points for Capitan. What's more, Robinson also posted a 63% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2025. Another player making a difference was Jacob Williams, who scored ten points.

Cloudcroft's record is now 9-11. As for Capitan, their record now sits at 7-13.

Cloudcroft wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 71-59 defeat against Mescalero Apache on the 7th. As for Capitan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-50 win against Lordsburg on the 7th.
