Covina came into Wednesday's contest looking for another win against El Rancho, but Andrew Morones wouldn't allow it. The Dons had just enough and edged out the Colts 38-35 with plenty of help from Morones, who shot 67% from the field to rack up 17 points and seven boards. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.

The victory got El Rancho back to even at 1-1. As for Covina, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

El Rancho didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-43 win against San Gabriel on the 28th. As for Covina, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 45-32 victory against El Monte on the 28th.
