Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 29-27, 23-25, 25-15, 25-11.
Meanwhile, Loyal didn't have quite enough to beat Cadott on Saturday and fell 2-1.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Loyal sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-17, 13-25, 15-10.
Gilman has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Loyal, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-3.
Gilman skirted past Loyal 3-2 in their previous matchup back in September of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gilman since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
