Recap: Overton Mustangs vs. New Summerfield Hornets
The Overton Mustangs posted their biggest victory since December 15, 2023 on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 42-17 margin over New Summerfield. That's another feather in the cap for Overton, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Overton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kayla Nobles, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamiya O'neal, who scored ten points along with eight steals.
The win got Overton back to even at 11-11. As for New Summerfield, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-15.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Douglass the next time they take the court. New Summerfield will head out to face Douglass at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while Overton will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
