Flag Football Game Preview: Grandview Wolves vs. Arapahoe Warriors

The Grandview Wolves will venture away from home to take on the Arapahoe Warriors at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Grandview will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Grandview is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Cherokee Trail 53-0. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Wolves with their most commanding win of the season.

Grandview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brooke Sullivan led the charge by throwing for 167 yards and four TDs, while also picking up 51 receiving yards and one score. Sullivan didn't just play on offense: she also made two total tackles and defended one pass in addition to snagging an interception. Another receiver making a difference was Abby Kirkpatrick, who gained 155 total yards and three touchdowns.

Grandview's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. The heavy lifting was done by Collette Esquibel and Jayden Schwabauer, who racked up all four sacks between them. Esquibel is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as she's now posted at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Arapahoe never got on the board in their matchup on Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Overland on Friday. They blew past the Trailblazers 35-13. Considering the Warriors' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-7. As for Grandview, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Grandview took their win against Arapahoe in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 37-13 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
