Recap: West Forsyth Titans vs. R.J. Reynolds Demons
The West Forsyth Titans won the last time they faced the R.J. Reynolds Demons, and things went their way on Thursday too. West Forsyth claimed a resounding 54-14 win over R.J. Reynolds on the road. Given West Forsyth's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 15th, while R.J. Reynolds is ranked 218th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
West Forsyth's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tj Fergus led the charge by rushing for 145 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Caman Chaplin, who rushed for 100 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries.
West Forsyth's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for R.J. Reynolds, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
West Forsyth will look to defend their home field on October 27th against East Forsyth at 7:00 p.m. East Forsyth is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for R.J. Reynolds, they will head out on the road to face off against Reagan at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th.
