Baseball Game Preview: Caverna Colonels vs. Larue County Hawks

Caverna hasn't had much luck against Larue County recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Colonels will welcome the Hawks at 5:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Caverna's offense. They came up short against Metcalfe County last Thursday, falling 17-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 20, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Meanwhile, Larue County faced Male in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Hawks lost 7-1 to the Bulldogs. The loss continues a trend for the Hawks in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Larue County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Abell, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Caverna's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Larue County, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.
