Volleyball Recap: Peru Tigers vs. Marion Giants

Peru won the last time they faced Marion, and things went their way on Saturday too. Everything went the Peru Tigers' way against the Marion Giants as the Peru Tigers made off with a 3-0 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Peru took every set by at least 12 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-11, 25-3.

Bailee Kintner was a one-man wrecking crew for Peru as she had eight aces and five digs. Those eight aces gave Kintner a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaelyn Edwards, who had eight digs and six aces.

She wasn't the only good server: Peru was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Peru's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-13. As for Marion, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-18.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Peru will venture away from home to take on Lewis Cass at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Peru is facing Lewis Cass at the right time seeing as Lewis Cass is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Marion, they will head out to face off against Hamilton Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
