Baseball Recap: Lake Norman Starts Season with Victory Against Ballantyne Ridge

Lake Norman took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Ballantyne Ridge Wolves with a sharp 6-0 win.

Eric Jacobsen looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

On the hitting side, Lake Norman let Austin Lockamy and Nick Mavroudis run wild. Lockamy scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3, while Mavroudis went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. Those two hits gave Lockamy a new career-high. Noah Jacobsen was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases.

Ballantyne Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Lake Norman wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 1-0 victory against South Mecklenburg on the 27th. As for Ballantyne Ridge, they have also already played their next game, a 13-3 defeat against Parkwood on the 28th.
